Qualitative research helps teams understand not just what people do, but why. When done well, it uncovers the motivations, barriers, and needs that drive real business value and create experiences that resonate with users and stakeholders alike.

About this Course

In this introductory, hands-on course, participants will learn practical, lightweight approaches to qualitative research that inform business and experience design. We’ll explore approachable techniques to gather rich, actionable insights — especially for those where research isn’t their full-time role.

Through guided practice, participants will learn how to listen deeply, synthesize complex inputs, identify meaningful patterns, and translate findings into insights that drive clarity and opportunity. The session also touches on how tools like AI can responsibly support parts of this work — such as organizing inputs, identifying patterns, or accelerating synthesis — while keeping human judgment and context at the center.

Together, we'll explore how qualitative research can elevate decision-making across both simple and complex contexts — from shaping strategy to improving everyday customer interactions and internal processes.
