Working with Maya, you quickly get a sense of their innate optimism, curiosity, and determination to reach every goal and overcome any challenge in their path.

After graduating with a psychology degree from University of Washington in 2021, Maya naturally gravitated toward Navicet, guided by a deep desire to help people and find a job they would enjoy. Our first project together was with Third Door Coalition, a non-profit developing solutions to combat chronic homelessness in Seattle.

"I think what lights that fire inside of me is if I can help someone out, create value for them. It makes me feel excited and happy and grateful to be working here."

Whether they're designing a new process or building an information model, Maya can really nerd out about creating something simple out of complexity. But the best part for Maya is seeing their clients' eyes light up when they see how the solution is going to make things better for them or their customers.

Something you might not know about Maya is their passion for endurance running - a fitting metaphor for the resilient energy they bring to every aspect of work and life.

For Maya, the idea of "going the distance" in an ultramarathon or a challenging project is hugely motivating. They know they have a ton to learn and do before they reach the finish line. But by surrounding themselves with people who coach them and cheer them on, Maya is so energized by what they're learning and the progress they're making that they never worry about failing.

"Peter and Lauren have been so generous teaching me, helping me cultivate new skills. Every time I've learned something new and achieved a new goal, it's felt amazing. So I'm most excited about the stuff I don't know and the projects that I haven't worked on yet."

We love Maya's mindset and hope some of it will wear off on the rest of us!
